Parachute House Peer Respite, 414-877-5918 Parachute House offers Wisconsin adults who need emotional support a free respite of up to 7 days in a private guest room.

·        Holistic, recovery-oriented wellness opportunities

·        Supportive conversations with peers who have been through their own struggles with mental health, trauma, or substance use.

·        Come and go as you choose to continue work or other scheduled activities.

Additional peer respites are located in Appleton, La Crosse, Madison, & Menomonie.

 Hotlines & Warmlines

988 or 1-800-SUICIDE. National Lifeline.  Free 24-hour national hotline with focus on crisis and suicidal crisis.  Be aware that the national suicide lifeline has caller ID and might do wellness checks without the consent of the caller. If this is a concern, please consider resources that do not use caller ID. 

Listening Ear Crisis Hotline, 517-337-1717. Free, confidential emotional support for any issue available from 9AM CST-9PM CST daily. Crisis hotline does not have caller ID or do call tracing or wellness checks.

Milwaukee County Crisis Hotline & Mobile Crisis Team, 414-257-7222. Support for individuals of all ages experiencing a mental health crisis. This non-police mobile response team operates 24/7, providing immediate intervention and support in the community. Be aware that the Milwaukee County Crisis Hotline has caller ID and might do wellness checks without the consent of the caller. If this is a concern, please consider resources that do not use caller ID. 

Parachute House Warmline, 414-877-5918. Free, confidential 24-hour emotional support. Locally staffed by peer support in Milwaukee.  Parachute house has caller ID for call-backs, but does not perform wellness checks. 

Samaritan’s Crisis Line, 212-673-3000. Free, confidential, 24-hour emotional support and crisis response hotline service is available on an immediate and ongoing basis to help people who are dealing with every kind of problem, illness, trauma, or loss as they try to cope with their difficulties.  Samaritans do not use caller ID or perform wellness checks.

Sojourner House Domestic Violence Hotline, 414-933-2722. Free, confidential support for those affected by domestic violence. Call or text at any time to speak with an advocate. Please note that while all calls are confidential, text messages may be stored on your device. If privacy is a concern, consider reaching out in a safe environment.

Trans Lifeline, 877-565-8860 Free, confidential, support for trans, non-binary, and questioning people. Life line is available, 12PM-8PM CST. Spanish language is available. All calls answered by trans or non-binary peer operators. Callers do not need to be in crisis to call. Callers who are unsure if they are trans or enby are encouraged to call. The Trans Life Line does not use caller ID or perform wellness checks, allowing individuals to seek help without fear or hesitation.

Uplift Wisconsin, 534-202-5438 Free, confidential support. The warmline is available to call 12 PM - 12 AM CST daily. Phones answered by people with lived experience of mental health, substance use, or other related experiences. You do not need to be in crisis to call this line. This line is fully anonymous and confidential and is not directly connected to crisis linkage services. We will not call emergency services on you unless you specifically request this from us, and that process will be led by you.

Psychiatric Drug Resources

Outreach Community Health,  414-257-7665. Access Clinic East serves both uninsured and insured Milwaukee County residents.  No patients will be denied services due to inability to pay. Those with insurance should consult their insurance provider and/or primary care physician; however, BHD provides bridge services to Milwaukee County residents until they are able to get an appointment with their long-term provider.  The clinic is open from 8AM-4PM, Monday through Friday. New patients should arrive by 2PM and will be seen in order of their arrival.
